How to find good foodie in SG?!

it's a new beginning for this somewhat-quite-free human-mon to re-start this blogger thingy going on again, after a hiatus of 5-6 years?? haha.. oh wellz..

so for a start.. let's learn how to search for good great (and trustworthy) food in SG, which is what this blog aims to achieve after some time of researching and hunting! whahahaha

1) always google / yahoo / bing / whatever search engines your are familiar with..

2) simply type in the food that you are interested in..

3) add the country / city / location that you are interested in so it narrows down your scope..

4) OR simply type "favourite food in ZZZ".. hurhur..

ok, here comes the difficult part.. WHO TO BELIEVE IN?! hmmmmm..

and that will be for the next post! meanwhile.. trust me on this:

TOP 3 DIE-DIE-MUST-TRY WAFFLES in SG!!

1) Banana-Rum Buttermilk Waffles @ Department of Caffeine (DOC)

this is really really good.. well-caramelized banana slices, vanilla bean ice-cream that smells great and rich in taste.. the waffles.. WOW!! crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.. the batter used has the balance of flour, egg and milk not tasted anywhere else in SG, JB and some say Batam, making every bite-and-chew a sensation!!

the rum, fortunately for me, is not really detectable.. i'm alcohol-intolerant.. hahahahaha.. so yup.. brace yourself IF you prefer those liquor-laced waffles that DOC probably can't satisfy your test buds..

over the 2 years of operations, of cos DOC had increased the price (from $12 to $14), just as any other food outlets in sg.. at $14 per set, i guess this is still a steal and i will continue to nom nom nom this waffles!!

2) Square Waffles @ Creamier

this is for those who love to choose their ice-cream flavours.. from earl grey lavender (pictured, top scoop), strawberry shortcake (pictured, bottom scoop), thai ice tea, chendol, cookies and cream, mao-shan-wang.. its endless.. and so is the queue.. lol

no reservations allowed, so walk-in, and try sitting along the bench seats before migrating to proper tables within the cramped confines.. or better still, explore eating this waffles from outdoor seating (ermmmm those old hdb stone tables with chess tiled on table tops)..

the waffles wise, crispy throughout and more to the sweet end of the stick.. together with the fabulous combination of maple + chocolate syrup mixture, this combo is a WOW too!

alternative: try their sister-cafe, Sunday Folks @ Chip Bee Gardens (Holland V) for the sundae version..

3) Red Velvet Waffles @ Oblong

For those who loves having choices in the waffles, this is THE place to go!

Highly recommended is their Red Velvet Waffles (with free cheese cream filling).. Try-worthy waffles flavors include matcha waffles (with azuki beans), charcoal waffles (with lemon curd)..

Great variety of ice cream too, reccomendations would go to their earl grey lavender!

Located just beside chomp chomp hawker Centre, I always had to make sure I don't over-order so as to leave some space for oblong!! LoL and even if we over-ate in chomp chomp, we will still make our way down to oblong for their waffles!! HAHAHAHHA

Here comes the dreadful part.. Fri/sat nites, FULL-HOUSE.. Wait for table take around 15mins, and another 30-45mins for the waffles.. AND WE WILL WAIT!!

That's how good the waffles are here!

Extra point goes to this cafe, becomes use they open till 2am on Friday and Saturday nights, and till mid-night every other nights!! Woohoo~
